Chaakmaati is a homegrown handmade ceramic jewelery brand. Homegrown because it literally started from a kitchen! It's a result of an IAS aspirant choosing to live her dream of being a potter. She's passionate for pottery and a sucker for traditional Indian jewelery. She started making jewelery pieces for herself from the leftover clay while learning pottery. And when everyone around appreciated it, she was encouraged to take this love to the next level and turn it into a brand dedicated to ceramic jewelery. She decided to make a place for this wonderful piece of art in the fashion industry too. The idea is to turn this versatile material into a delight that everyone can wear.

She finds working with clay meditative. It keeps her grounded and gives her a sense of oneness with the universe. The principle behind it is simple. The process of making ceramic jewelery involves all the four elements of the nature - Earth (clay), Water (kneading the clay), Air (drying), and Fire (baking). Even the brass metal to make the jewelry is derived from Earth and every single piece is handmade, with love.

At Chaakmaati, with our line of jewelry, we also break the myth that ceramics are heavy. Our jewelery is lightweight and delicate. We play with different shapes, techniques of ceramics, wood blocks and free hand glaze painting in each collection.

Our designs are intricate and bold. We add an ethnic touch to it with a varied sizes of ghungroos and original vintage coins, which makes every piece a statement and chic.

We love to experiment! We've even included nose-pins to our collection, that no one has tried ever. We keep testing our limits and will continue to try new things so you always have something new to come back to.
